In this contingent resource assignment, you may:

  • Consult as an expert to develop or influence initiatives and resources for highly complex business and technical needs across Engineering.
  • Consult on the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, and advanced analytical and inductive thinking.
  • Provide expertise to client senior leadership on innovative Engineering business solutions.
  • Strategically engage with client personnel.
In This Role, You Will:
  • Architect, manage, and maintain IBM z/OS environments including JES2, RACF, SMP/E.
  • Administer and optimize mainframe storage subsystems (DASD, tape, virtual tape systems) using DFSMS, DFHSM, and FDR/ABR.
  • Architect and manage DB2 for z/OS environments including subsystem configuration, buffer pool tuning, and workload management.
  • Architect and manage IBM MQ for z/OS environments including queue managers, channels, and message flows.
  • Design and implement HA/DR solutions using sysplex configurations, DB2 data sharing, MQ shared queues, and coupling facilities.
  • Perform performance tuning and capacity planning across DB2, MQ, z/OS, and storage subsystems.
  • Optimize SQL workloads and MQ message flows.
  • Automate provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring tasks using REXX, JCL, IBM System Automation, and BMC Control-M/MainView.
  • Monitor system health using RMF, OMEGAMON, IBM Data Server Manager, MQ Explorer, and IBM Z Monitoring Suite.
  • Ensure security, compliance, and audit readiness across all subsystems (SOX, PCI, HIPAA).
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and data governance teams to support integrated enterprise solutions.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement long-term solutions.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
Required Qualifications:
  • IBM z/OS (JES2, RACF, SMP/E)
  • DB2 for z/OS (data sharing, performance tuning)
  • IBM MQ for z/OS (shared queues, coupling facility)
  • Mainframe storage technologies (DASD, VTS, DFSMS)
