Job Description

The IT Production Support Assistant works under the guidance of a Team Lead or Section Manager to support critical production applications running in IBM Mainframe and mid-range computing environments. This role is responsible for executing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining production workloads while ensuring operational stability and adherence to established standards.



Responsibilities

  1. :Monitor, execute, troubleshoot, and manage production jobs in IBM Mainframe and mid-range server environments
  2. .Create, schedule, submit, hold, cancel, and monitor batch jobs using Control-M scheduling software
  3. .Support mainframe COBOL applications by promoting program packages and source code components using Endevor
  4. .Manage and resolve incident tickets using service management/tracking tools (e.g., Cherwell), ensuring proper documentation and resolution updates

Required Experien

  • ce2+ years (within the last 5 years) supporting IBM Mainframe Operations and production control environment
  • s.2+ years of hands-on experience with Control-M for production job scheduling, monitoring, and managemen
  • t.2+ years working in a Data Center/Production Support environment with direct customer interactio
  • n.2+ years using Endevor to manage and promote application programs, JCL, PROCS, and control statement
  • s.Experience with incident management/ticketing systems, preferably Cherwell Service Management or similar tool
