Job description

  • Tier One Technologies is seeking a Mainframe Support Operator/Administrator to work with our US Government client.
  • This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

  • Responsible for supporting a large mainframe payroll application.
  • Operate, monitor, and assist in the maintenance and integrity of the mainframe, peripherals, servers, and network.  
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and provided first level help desk support.
  • Able to adapt to various operational duties in customized data centers.
  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers.
  • Perform systems security administration functions.
  • Other duties may include maintaining system documentation, system performance, and installing system wide software.
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Interact with users.

  • Prior relevant experience in the IBM mainframe environment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship).
  • Ability to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance.
  • Must not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
  • Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
