Senior Software Engineer - Mainframe, MQ, CICS

The Team
The Mainframe Application Infrastructure (MAI) team is part of the Enterprise Technology group. The MAI team provides common solutions for mainframe brokerage applications as well as general mainframe engineering and consultation services. The team is responsible for the common infrastructure solutions to support applications that leverage CICS, DB2 and MQ technologies in a two site, active-active environment.

The team is responsible for application infrastructure software development/maintenance in addition to online (MQ, CICS and DB2) environment configuration and management.
The software development responsibilities include development and support of proprietary solutions for communication interfaces, dynamic transaction routing, MQ messaging, multisite operations, file replication and user authorization. Environment management responsibilities include CICS/MQ topology, remote DB2 connection management and configuration for reuse of common cloud enablement solutions.
The Role
You will be part of a squad responsible for MQ and multi-site infrastructure software development and maintenance. This software is used across the brokerage platform to allow switching the mainframe sites they are connected to. This is mission critical software which processes millions of transactions every day. Additional responsibilities include participation in an on-call rotation for all software owned by the team. You will also work with the team leads and stakeholders from other organizations to help prioritize the backlog and plan out major initiatives.
The Expertise You Have
  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2 plus years of mainframe application development experience which utilize CICS, DB2, MQ
  • Exposure to designing, building, deploying, and supporting mainframe applications.
  • Familiarity with the following: CICS, COBOL, VSAM, MQ, SQL.
  • Knowledge in Assembler, REXX, JCL, JAVA, Control-M a plus but not required.
