Mainframe Developer (Dallas, Texas) Responsibilities
  • Provide thought & technical leadership for key initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain architecture solutions on a platform dedicated to high‑scale processing of large amounts of data.
  • Set, communicate, and reinforce technical standards.
  • Provide leadership for junior and senior engineers alike, by understanding how to leverage and enhance their current skills.
  • Assess and research current implementations of the platform and determine the course of action required to elevate the platform to meet customer needs.
  • Work with Operations to plan major infrastructure upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and tune the environment for optimal performance and uptime.
  • Collaborate with peers and management on process improvement ideas, policy and procedure enhancements, and opportunities to improve customer service experience.
  • Participate in code review, unit testing and provide support on issues in non‑prod or production.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years on CICS, COBOL, DB2, VSAM and JCL.
  • 5+ years of CICS system knowledge would be valuable.
Preferred Skills
  • Good understanding of CICS Dynamic Transaction Routing process.
  • Familiar with DB2 tools, File‑Aid, scheduler and debugger tools.
  • Understanding of Distributed Applications/ System.
  • Exposure to Brokerage/Finance domain is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience working in highly transactional, fault‑tolerant and data‑driven systems.
  • Ability to identify areas of risk or potential problems and take action to mitigate them.
  • Ability to work with less experienced staff to mitigate more complex issues.
  • Ability to apply different communication and leadership styles for different teams and geographies.
  • Ability to lead through influence and know what data is needed to drive effective decisions.
  • Ability to assess and plan projects, stakeholder needs, and manage deadlines and risks.
  • Ability to anticipate roadblocks, diagnose problems and generate effective solutions.
  • Ability to build communication and rapport with partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment and be effective in many different business settings.
  • Ability to take initiative, define vision for betterment of products, and execute at a high level of quality.
  • Ability to plan and work with geographically spread out teams.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar subject.
  • 5+ years of experience in information technology.
  • Financial services experience, preferably in Brokerage Domain.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $96,800 - $145,200 per annum. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
