Job description

Main Line COAX Splicer – Telecommunications
B&A Communications is seeking a Main Line COAX Splicer to join our telecommunications construction team.
Experienced COAX splicers are strongly preferred, and candidates with proven main line splicing, activation, balancing, and troubleshooting experience will receive priority consideration and compensation based on experience.
However, we are also willing to consider motivated candidates with telecommunications, CATV, cable construction, or related field experience who have a strong mechanical aptitude and are interested in developing their COAX splicing skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform main line COAX cable splicing for new construction and maintenance projects
  • Install and splice coax cable, hardline connectors, passives, and related equipment
  • Read and understand system prints, maps, and work orders
  • Perform or assist with system activation, balancing, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Identify and repair signal and connectivity issues
  • Complete aerial and underground splicing work
  • Maintain accurate documentation of completed work
  • Follow company and customer safety and quality standards
  • Work independently in the field and coordinate with supervisors and construction crews
Qualifications
Preferred Experience:

  • Previous main line COAX splicing experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with CATV/HFC systems and coax construction practices
  • Experience using signal meters and standard splicing/testing equipment
  • Ability to read cable prints, system maps, and work orders
We will also consider candidates who:

  • Have previous telecommunications, CATV, broadband, cable construction, line work, or related field experience
  • Have strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
  • Are dependable and willing to learn COAX splicing, activation, and testing
  • Can work safely and efficiently with limited supervision after training
All candidates must:

  • Have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Be available to work days, nights, weekends, or on-call as project needs require
  • Be dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to producing quality work
  • Be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Compensation
$20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Candidates with proven main line COAX splicing experience will be considered toward the higher end of the pay range.
