Under the direction of the Director of Residence Life and Student Housing, and the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position plays an integral role in the quality of the on-campus experience within the University residence halls.
UNM Residence Life and Student Housing endeavors to foster inclusive, community-based living environments consciously designed for our residents' personal growth and academic success in well-maintained facilities.
This position contributes to the department by providing excellent customer service to on-campus residents in the SRC Commons Mailroom.
Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide general administrative support functions in the day-today operations of the SRC Commons Mail Room.
Sort, post, and forward mail per established procedures and policies.
Accept, track, and distribute packages per established procedures and policies.
Issue mailboxes and mailbox keys; track key and box assignments within department database.
Operate personal computer to input data.
Serve as a member of the customer service team and perform all functions of a mail attendant including servicing on campus residents and processing mail.
Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities indicated above, conditions of employment include:
Work rotating weekend and holiday shifts.
Attend all scheduled staff meetings and special events; staff will be paid for attending required meetings.
Begin work approximately one week before the academic semester begins, continue work through the end of the academic semester, and work scheduled hours during University breaks and vacation periods.
May not work over 28 hours per week.
Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours each academic semester, excluding summer.
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
