Description

The Planning Coordinator & Business Coach supports entrepreneurs through the I-HOPE Women's Business Center (WBC) while leading training programs, coordinating events, and providing one-on-one business coaching. This role blends program management, marketing, public relations, client counseling, and administrative responsibilities to ensure community engagement and successful program outcomes.
This position is ideal for a highly organized, people-centered professional who enjoys guiding small business owners, managing events, and creating impactful educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Training, Workshops & Events (35%)

  • Conduct workshops, orientations, and counseling sessions (in-person, virtual, one-on-one, and group).
  • Facilitate class preparation, including emailing, scheduling, materials development, promotion, and networking.
  • Provide training directly or coordinate with external trainers and subject matter experts.
  • Develop and deliver statewide networking programs.
  • Oversee Growth Wheel Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Support special projects and programming in rural areas.

Business Coaching & Mentorship (25%)

  • Provide one-on-one business coaching on business planning, financial planning, EIN registration, and state filings.
  • Track client progress and provide ongoing guidance.
  • Assist entrepreneurs in navigating complex processes in manageable steps.

Marketing, Public Relations & Outreach (25%)

  • Serve as marketing and public relations coordinator for the WBC.
  • Develop social marketing plans and manage press/media outreach, including rural markets.
  • Assist with social media, newsletters, and event promotion using Canva and Mailchimp.
  • Update the WBC website with clear communication for events and programs.
  • Facilitate marketing communications to increase program awareness.

Administrative & Data Management (10%)

  • Maintain accurate client and program records using Center Dynamics (Center IC) and Nexus.
  • Provide required reports to the SBA via CRM systems for EDMIS.
  • Track and report in-kind contributions monthly.
  • Participate in meetings, conference calls, and planning sessions.
  • Provide workshop information for web and newsletter updates.
  • Serve as a liaison for I-HOPE WBC volunteers.

Organizational Support (5%)

  • Support Increasing H.O.P.E. events, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
  • Serve as a committee member on a Strategic Anchor for I-HOPE WBC.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Preferred Education:

  • Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality, Business, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or related fields.
  • OR 3+ years of experience in business coaching, program support, or related areas (7+ years accepted in lieu of a degree).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong communication, marketing, PR, and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management and leadership abilities.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various software platforms; CRM experience preferred.
  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, and social media applications.
  • Risk management experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for events.
