Charlotte, NC 28217 $19.00 per hour Full-Time | Sunday - Thursday | Hours Typically Between 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Contract Position | July 27, 2026 - October 27, 2026 Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Lockbox Machine Processor / Operator to join a fast-paced financial operations team. In this role, you'll operate mail extraction, sorting, and scanning equipment while processing payment transactions accurately and efficiently in accordance with established client procedures.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in mailroom operations, lockbox processing, document imaging, production, or machine operation who enjoy working in a production-driven environment where quality and accuracy are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Payment & Mail Processing

  • Process payment transactions according to established client business rules.
  • Receive, sort, and prepare incoming mail for processing.
  • Operate mail extraction, sorting, and high-speed scanning equipment.
  • Ensure payments and documents are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Perform quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of processed work.

Equipment Operation

  • Operate and monitor mail processing equipment, including:
    • OPEX Falcon
    • OPEX 150/IEM
    • OPEX MPS 40
    • Similar high-speed mail extraction and scanning equipment
  • Identify equipment jams, misfeeds, or operational issues.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and notify management when equipment requires service.

Production & Quality

  • Meet established productivity and quality standards.
  • Follow all operational procedures, compliance requirements, and audit guidelines.
  • Support additional mailroom and lockbox operations as needed.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
  • Promote teamwork and a collaborative work culture.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a lockbox, mailroom, document processing, production, or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience operating OPEX Falcon, OPEX 150/IEM, OPEX MPS 40, or similar mail processing equipment is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

Schedule
  • Sunday - Thursday
