Typically, patients can order medications online, by phone, or through their healthcare provider, and the pharmacy ships the prescriptions directly to their home. This service is often used for maintenance medications that are taken regularly, and it can offer cost savings, convenience, and automatic refills. Mail order pharmacies are especially beneficial for people with chronic conditions who require ongoing medication management.
