Job Title: Mail Clerk
Location: Bloomfield, CT (onsite)
Duration: 4+ Months Contract (Temp to Perm)
Mon - Fri (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)

Overview
Position supporting mail processing, document imaging, copying, scanning, shipping and receiving, and general site support. The role will primarily involve sorting physical mail and scanning it into a delivery system. Extensive standing may be required, along with lifting up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities

  • Operate high-volume duplicating, copying, document imaging, and mail management equipment and related software.
  • Process, sort, scan, distribute, and handle incoming and outgoing mail and faxes; apply necessary postage.
  • Generate reports for digital printing, imaging, and mail systems.
  • Ship and receive products and supplies.
  • Operate document image handling software, MS Office, email, and document management systems.
  • Open, save, transfer, send, and retrieve PC files according to established protocols.
  • Inspect convenience copiers for quality, clear paper jams, and report equipment problems to technicians.
  • Maintain records, inventory reports, daily meter and service logs, and billing logs.
  • Distribute office supplies, fax transmissions, mail, and completed jobs to designated locations.
  • Calculate charges for completed jobs.
  • Respond to customer questions and coordinate required service calls.
  • Perform filing, document purging, and archiving as required.
  • Deliver completed jobs to designated customer locations.
  • Maintain copier areas to ensure they are neat and well stocked.
  • Perform bindery, quality control, final checks, and finishing work.
  • Operate shrink-wrap machines, paper cutters, hole drills, bindery equipment, joggers, tape machines, stackers, electric staplers, and scales.
  • Operate copiers, calculators, fax machines, postage meters, and PCs.
  • Perform meeting and conference room setup, building occupant moves, re-lamping, light maintenance, and occasional cleaning as assigned.
  • May travel between customer buildings.
  • May require periodic overtime on nights and weekends, including off-hour emergency response.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, and 1-2 years of experience, or equivalent related experience.
  • Some related copy job experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good PC, organizational, mathematical, and filing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and use office machines and technical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret, comprehend, and apply complex material, data, and instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stretch, climb, and perform similar activities for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 50-55 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull machines on wheels weighing up to 700 pounds when required for repairs.
  • Ability to walk between buildings as necessary.
  • Business casual dress code; no jeans or T-shirts.
  • Driving is not required.
  • No COVID requirements.
