Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
As a member of a cross-functional team, performs semi-skilled production machine operations to assemble/fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team goals. May perform work manually and/or by machine operation which requires in-depth knowledge of process and constant monitoring. Ensures product and process quality and efficiency through appropriate inspection and continuous improvement problem solving activities. Makes machine adjustments and typically manages several variables within the process. Maintains procedures and standards to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area. Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation to guide operations of the team.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties listed below will be performed at different degrees dependent upon the assigned team. Responsibilities include machine operation, assembly, trimming, material handling and inspection.
  • Performs semi-skilled production work to assemble or fabricate a product or sub-assembly in accordance with team production goals. May perform work manually and/or by machine operation which requires in-depth knowledge of process and constant monitoring.
  • Ensures product and process quality and efficiency through appropriate inspection and continuous improvement problem solving activities.
  • Makes machine adjustments and typically manages several variables within the process. Maintains procedures and standards to provide compliance with quality standards for assigned area.
  • Efficiently performs basic preventative maintenance and minor machine setups.
  • Maintains material movement systems and completes proper paperwork and documentation to guide operations of the team.
  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of team objectives.
  • Performs all work in compliance with Magna and Magna Engineered Glass Systems Health, Safety and
  • Environmental policies and procedures as well as all federal, state, and local laws; promptly report any hazardous condition or workplace injury to immediate supervisor or EHS designate.
  • Train/retrain new employees and co-workers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills to manage, prioritize, and deal with many issues at one time.
  • Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills in order to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within production and quality standards; including being able to operate/utilize all job related equipment. equipment may include fork-lift, hand tools, production machinery, et cetera.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Prolonged standing at least 8 hours, but up to 12 hours per day
    • Lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds multiple times per hour.
