Job description

Step Into the Multiverse: Your Next Adventure Starts Here

At Wizards of the Coast, we harness the power of imagination and connection to create unforgettable experiences. We create entertainment that inspires creativity, sparks passion, forges friendships, and fosters communities around the globe. In every pursuit our mission is to inspire a lifetime love of games. Whether it's through the strategic depth of Magic: The Gathering, the rich storytelling of Dungeons & Dragons, or our AAA digital game studios, we build worlds that bring people together, spark creativity, and fuel adventure. As we continue to grow and explore new realms, we're seeking passionate, curious, and innovative minds to join the adventure.

We are growing our Enterprise Data & Engineering team!

Do you have a passion for data and a drive to build things that matter? We're looking for a Data Engineer to join our high-visibility Enterprise Data & Engineering team, helping Hasbro better reach consumers with compelling products and entertainment. This is a great opportunity for an emerging engineer eager to grow their skills and make a real impact in a collaborative, data-driven environment.

In this role, you will contribute to the development and optimization of data pipelines, transformations, and analytics infrastructure that power decision-making across the business. You'll work alongside senior engineers, data scientists, and analysts, gaining hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms and growing into the kind of engineer who can one day lead complex, enterprise-scale data initiatives.

We value diverse perspectives and welcome candidates who bring different experiences and approaches to solving data challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows that move and transform data across cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
  • Write and tune complex SQL queries to support analytics, reporting, and data modeling needs.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of data engineering infrastructure, learning standards from senior engineers and technical leads.
  • Support data quality monitoring and validation efforts, helping to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data products.
  • Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation as part of a culture of engineering excellence.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analytics engineers, and business partners to understand data needs and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Assist in the integration of AI and machine learning solutions into data workflows to improve efficiency and elevate the consumer experience.
  • Develop familiarity with data governance principles, including metadata management and data lineage.

What You'll Bring

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field - or equivalent demonstrated skills through internships, academic projects, or self-directed work.
  • Solid foundation in SQL; experience writing queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.
  • Exposure to at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for data manipulation, automation, or pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and a curiosity to deepen that knowledge.
  • Understanding of core data engineering concepts: ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and batch processing.
  • Awareness of or interest in tools like DBT, Databricks, Airflow, Snowflake, or Kafka - experience with any is a plus.
  • A self-starter mindset with genuine curiosity for solving unstructured data problems and working with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with or curiosity about AI-enabled development tools (such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar coding assistants) and an interest in leveraging them to write better code, accelerate development, and improve engineering workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with equivalent experience accepted.
