Government Pre-Sales Engineer
Location: McLean, VA
Work Environment: Hybrid
Role Summary:
Exiger helps the U.S. government make better decisions in environments where data is fragmented, risk is hidden, and the cost of getting it wrong is high. Our Government business continues to grow rapidly as agencies turn to Exiger to bring clarity, trust, and defensibility to supply chain, third-party, and software risk decisions.
We are hiring a Government Pre-Sales Engineer to serve as a key technical partner to our Government Sales team, driving how Exiger's platform, data, and AI capabilities are translated into credible, compliant, and mission-aligned solutions. This role sits at the intersection of government mission needs, complex data and integration requirements, and enterprise buying processes.
You will play a critical role in shaping technical strategy across federal pursuits-supporting Federal Civilian, Defense, Intelligence Community, and Aerospace and Defense customers-while owning the technical pre-sales motion from initial engagement through deal close.
What You'll Do:
  • Own the end-to-end technical pre-sales motion for U.S. Government customers, including solution architecture, demonstrations, proof-of-value engagements, and RFP/RFI responses
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor in customer-facing engagements, clearly articulating how Exiger's solutions address mission, compliance, and operational risk challenges
  • Partner with Account Executives and capture teams to support complex, high-value federal pursuits
  • Translate government regulatory, security, and procurement requirements into scalable, repeatable solution designs
  • Design and deliver tailored demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and technical validations aligned to customer mission priorities
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to align customer needs with Exiger's solution roadmap
  • Contribute to best practices, playbooks, and solution patterns that improve consistency and effectiveness across government pursuits
What You Need:
  • 5-10+ years of experience in solutions engineering, pre-sales engineering, data integrations, enterprise architecture, or technical consulting, supporting U.S. Government customers
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder, and RFP-driven sales cycles, including demos, proof-of-concepts, and technical evaluations
  • Understanding of government procurement processes and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, CMMC, NIST, DFARS, and ITAR
  • Hands-on experience with data ingestion, integration, and interoperability solutions, including APIs, cloud-based data platforms, and analytics or dashboarding tools
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, mission-oriented value propositions for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with supply chain risk management (SCRM), third-party risk, or cybersecurity risk frameworks is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • U.S. citizenship is required; active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is preferred
Why Exiger:
  • Work on nationally significant federal programs with real-world impact
  • Play a key role in high-profile government pursuits
  • Partner closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to deliver meaningful outcomes
  • Help shape how Exiger shows up technically across the U.S. Government market
Why You'll Love Working at Exiger:
  • High-performance culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence
  • Discretionary Time Off for all employees, with no maximum limits on time off
  • Industry-leading health, vision, and dental benefits
  • Competitive compensation package
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Flexible, hybrid approach to working from home and in the office where applicable
