Description
Assists in the daily administration of the YMCA Magic Place After-School Program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist students in completing daily homework assignments.
  • Check to make sure homework is done correctly.
  • Help record and maintain the student information.
  • Supervise and monitor participants during hand washing and bathroom breaks.
  • Supervise and monitor participants during indoor programming and free play.
  • Supervise and monitor participants during outdoor programming and free play.
  • Provide appropriate First-Aid to participants as the need arises.
  • Set up for nutritional snacks.
  • Clean up areas after snacks.
  • Clean up after participants have left.
  • Other duties as assigned by Child Care Director, Child Care Coordinator, or Site Director.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to read, interpret and communicate information effectively
  • Ability to work alone or in groups
  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma.
  • One-year experience in childcare.
