A Magazine Publisher oversees the production, management, and distribution of magazines. They are responsible for developing editorial content strategies, managing budgets, coordinating marketing efforts, and ensuring that the magazine reaches its target audience. Publishers also work closely with editors, writers, designers, and advertising teams to create successful and profitable publications. Their role requires strong leadership, business acumen, and a keen understanding of current trends in media and publishing.

Publishers must make strategic decisions about resource allocation, content prioritization, and audience development, all while adapting to changes in the media landscape. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.
This role will support the Publishing organization at Netflix, which includes our Tudum.com site, Podcasts, our Tudum Magazine and Written Communications.
About Tudum.com
Tudum is your headquarters for the best of Netflix, no matter if you're simply curious or a superfan. We give you inside access to the people and stories behind our shows and movies. Whether you're fueling your passion for a long-standing favorite or finding your next obsession, Tudum makes watching Netflix better.
About Tudum Magazine
A print and digital publication that celebrates the people, the ideas, and the process of creating great entertainment on Netflix and beyond.
About Podcasts
Netflix Podcasts extend the conversation around Netflix and fuel fandom, allowing us to own our audience's time and redirect them to the service for more viewing.
Our goal is to ignite the power of Netflix fans - our biggest ambassadors and the engines of buzz about our titles. By leveraging multiple distribution platforms and collaborating with creative minds across the globe, Publishing at Netflix is all about connecting viewers with the stories they love, enhancing their experience, and driving engagement through innovative and immersive content.
The Role
We are seeking a highly creative, strategic, and detail-oriented Digital Video Producer to join the Video Team within Netflix Publishing. This role will oversee the end-to-end creation of engaging, high-quality video content for Netflix audiences on owned and off-platform surfaces, ensuring alignment with brand strategies, distribution opportunities, and editorial priorities. You will manage projects from ideation through publishing, working across research, development, production, post-production, publishing, and promotion. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, passionate collaborator, has incredible format range in their portfolio, and thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic cross-functional environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Context Gathering: Absorb as much information as possible to develop an informed point of view about a show, movie, audience, and content capture opportunity.
  • Creative Development: Brainstorm with creative partners, considering project parameters and distribution opportunities to inform your ideas. Refine concepts into detailed treatments, scripts, or execution plans before sharing for alignment and adapting as needed.
  • Production: Manage video capture in many forms including set visits, integration into an existing junket, or overseeing a production vendor to execute an original shoot/livestream. Maintain project timelines and budgets for your projects while enforcing creative quality.
  • Post-Production: Supervise video edits, managing multiple rounds of feedback with internal and external stakeholders, abiding by legal/talent restrictions while delivering creative excellence. Understand how a creative idea should translate across different canvases and platforms while preserving its core intent.
  • Reviews, Publishing, & Promotion: Manage partner reviews and ancillary asset creation (thumbnails, social assets, etc) for a surprise-free launch. Deliver metadata, including compelling headlines, descriptions, and transcripts for videos into the CMS for publishing.
  • Experiment & Adapt. Prototype and experiment with new formats, visual approaches and storytelling conventions, informed by audience needs and behaviors. Measure the impact and evolve the work based on audience response and performance.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience in creative production, video content creation, publishing AV, entertainment marketing production, branded content creation or related fields.
  • Passion for entertainment, media, and the content that fans and publishers create in this category. Limitless curiosity for the digital video landscape, how formats can be tailored to different platforms, and the way online media is always evolving.
  • Creative development expertise paired with strong creative problem solving skills. Must have a strong point of view on excellence in digital video formats, how ideas attract an audience, and how strong execution maintains engagement.
  • Deep understanding of video production craft and post-production processes. Experience being on set and working with/directing talent. Ability to guide vendors, partners, or editors through your creative vision to ensure quality execution.
  • Strong judgement to assess creative opportunities, determine viability, and meet them with appropriate scale and resourcing.
  • Highly motivated independent thinker with a goal-oriented mindset. Proactively generates new ideas, project plans, and solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills in work prioritization along with managing complex workflows, deadlines, and stakeholder reviews. Comfort with project management tools, asset management systems, and CMS publishing workflows.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, adept sharing ideas in a room or in writing to gain alignment with stakeholders.
  • Data-comprehension skills to interpret performance metrics and use insights to fuel creative decision-making.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with live streaming, both content development and production.
  • Experience with video podcasting formats for marketing.
  • Experience with AI-fueled workflows for video/asset creation.
  • Familiarity with editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere, After Effects).
