Job description

Job Title: CNC Machinist - 4144
Location: Carson City, NV 89706
Duration: Direct hire
Shift: 2ND SHIFT: 3 PM to 11:30 PM
Pay: $25.00 USD/hour
Qualifications:
  • Machinist II requiring 3-5 years of actual machining or CNC operations.
  • A machinist operates computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, such as grinding and milling machines, to cut and produce precision manufactured parts.
  • Machinists repair or produce parts using both manual and automated equipment with precise measurements based on blueprints and/or technical drawings and is responsible for overall work assignments under the supervision of the Cell Supervisor/Work Leader.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (experience is appreciated but not required) -
  • Moving to higher levels depends on training and level of competence shown to perform.
  • Trade school education/certificate preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Machining certificates as equipment requires.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and familiarity with Microsoft packages.

โ€ข Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in close tolerance manufacturing.
โ€ข Possess intermediate math skills for measurement, testing and problem resolution.
โ€ข Replace cutting tools as required to meet product conformity.
โ€ข Safely operate overhead cranes.
โ€ข Display proficiency in the use of inspection tools such as micrometers (ID/OD/depth) calipers, pi tapes, etc. and hand tools including layout tools, grinders, drills, wrenches, mallets, etc.
โ€ข Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders and manuals. Knowledge about geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
โ€ข Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed.
โ€ข Work effectively with minimal supervision.
โ€ข Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
โ€ข Complete required inspection documentation reports.
โ€ข Receive priorities, instructions, and assignments from supervisor.
โ€ข Observes safety regulations and exhibits a high concern for safety.
โ€ข Maintain good housekeeping practices.
โ€ข Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
