Job description


Machinist I
The Machinist will work with other team members throughout all departments to perform excellent work and continuously improve. The job will consist primarily of working in a Production/R&D shop floor environment which includes various CNC machines and Swiss machines. Work will also include recording production data.
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt Position Type: Full-time Hours: 40-45 hrs Schedule: M-F
Reports to: Production Manager
Key Roles
  • Work to standard: Perform work to standards for safety, quality, and time while identifying abnormalities.
  • Organize work area: Maintain and improve organization and cleanliness of work area.
  • Solve problems: Support the team in solving problems for customers and improving processes.
  • Basic Machine PM's: Regular care and preventative maintenance of machines.
  • Machine set ups and adjustments: Set up and changeover of machines.

Key Competencies
  • Willingness to learn
  • Able to work independently and with others
  • Able to collaborate and communicate well
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to operate CNC and/or Swiss machines
  • Proficient with measurement tools
  • Strong mathematical skills (decimals, calculations, conversions, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand parts drawings.
