We are looking for a motivated and creative leader to help shape and support our mission.
A Machinist "A" works in the Machine Shop operating a variety of machines. A Machinist "A" produces parts that are held to tight tolerances based on the blueprint and/or written information given.
Major Position Responsibilities
  • The parts made in the Machine Shop are not massed produced and these parts are each unique and different from each other. The Machinist "A" daily runs any of the machines located in the machine shop. Frequently machines all type of materials.
  • The Machinist "A" reads blueprints and written instructions as part of machining cycle. By determining the proper amount of raw product needed to produce the part and completing the task within a satisfactory time, assures that the work is performed in machine shop
  • Works with and follows Work Instructions, PCR's, Basic Rules of Manufacturing, General Dynamics OTS Environmental, ISO Documentation, Quality Policy and other work related policies
  • At all times demonstrates common safety practices associated with the manufacturing environment and the use of hand or industrial equipment. Follows the 5 S's by routinely sorting, setting in order, shining up, standardizing and sustaining the work area.

Basic Qualifications
  • A machining degree from a college or technical school or any combination of education, training or related work experience that would, in the eyes of the supervisor
  • Ability to operate machinery to machine parts on a daily basis
  • Ability to read blueprints and work instructions to make the parts needed for the facility
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and off shift if nexessary as this is a union environment
