Job description

The Machining Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the machining department to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives are achieved. This position will supervise CNC machinists and fabricators while driving continuous improvement, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality standards
This position will play a critical role in the production process and contribute to the team's overall performance in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Attitude (QCDSA).
We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to delivering excellence in aerospace manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the machining department.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company safety policies.
  • Monitor production schedules and prioritize work to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality procedures.
  • Review machine utilization, efficiency, scrap, and downtime to improve overall performance.
  • Coordinate with Programming, Tooling, and Quality to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Manage employee attendance, performance, disciplinary actions, and training.
  • Conduct daily production meetings and communicate departmental goals and priorities.
  • Ensure tooling, fixtures, and raw materials are available to support production.
  • Support new product introductions and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production and labor reporting within the ERP system.
  • Promote lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with budgeting, staffing, and capital equipment planning.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED required, associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • Machining experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using ERP/MRP systems, and electronic time keeping systems.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Adheres to OSHA, NADCAP, ISO9000 / AS9100, ITAR, FAA regulations and company specific safety standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods (up to 8-12 hours per shift). Able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50lbs regularly, and occasionally heavier weights with assistance.
Must be able to tolerate exposure to manufacturing environments, including moderate noise levels, vibrations, and varying temperatures.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment ae required, Such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
On the production floor, PPE is required depending on department and product (e.g., gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection).
