Job description

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site CNC Setup Machinist role based in the Greater Seattle Area. The CNC Setup Machinist will set up, operate, and adjust CNC machines to produce parts according to engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting and installing tooling, loading programs, performing test runs, inspecting first articles, and making necessary offsets and adjustments to ensure dimensional accuracy. The role involves monitoring machine performance, performing basic preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with engineering and production teams to meet quality and delivery requirements. The CNC Setup Machinist will also document setup processes, follow safety and quality procedures, and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
Qualifications

  • Ability to set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes, including selecting tooling, fixtures, and workholding.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

  • Experience using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions.

  • Knowledge of CNC programs, offsets, feeds, speeds, and basic troubleshooting of machining processes.
