About:
J. Baur Machining is a manufacturing company located in Mars, PA. We have been a leader in precision machining and contract manufacturing for over 40 years. We are family-owned business made up of about 20 amazing employees. We feature automated CNC technology that includes 18 CNC machines in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. We love Mazak, Multi-Tasking equipment!
Who Are We Looking For:
This position if for our 2nd shift. Your set schedule would be Monday thru Thursday, 11AM - 10:30pm (44 hour work week). You will be off work Friday- Sunday. We are looking for an entry to mid-level CNC Machine Operator who understand machining basics such as blueprint reading and the ability to operate basic hand and power tools. We are willing to train and progress an ambitious, self-starter who wants to learn the trade of machining. This is also a great opportunity for any college/trade school student in the process of earning their machining trade certificate. As a Machine Operator, you will have the ability to operate CNC equipment such as Mazak Multi-Tasking Equipment, Mazak Horizontals, and HAAS Verticals. What Your Day May Look Like:

  • Take instruction from the CNC Set-Up machinists for running your part.
  • Operate manual and CNC machine tools that include loading and unloading material to and from the machine tool work holding.
  • Observe material cutting processes.
  • Perform tool life management and tool compensation.
  • Detect and report defective material, product, and equipment at machine tool.
  • Complete parts finishing operation of the product to ensure it conforms to specifications per blueprint.
  • Complete machine tool routine maintenance.
  • Trouble shooting on machines in this fast-paced environment.

The Perfect Candidate:
  • Know or be willing to learn how to read and interpret blueprints and have a strong understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
  • Ability to use and operate hand or power tools and finishing tools.
  • Knowledge of math.
  • Mechanical aptitude and meticulous.
  • Team Player with a great attitude that can work well with others and be able to take correction. We are a small company that strives for a pleasant work environment for all.
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
