Job description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Machining Team Lead ย to assist in leading our 1st and 2nd shift production machining team. This role plays a key part in coordinating shift startup, supporting scheduling efforts, and ensuring production goals and quality standards are met under the direction of the Machining Supervisor.ย 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC machines and perform machine setups as required.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Verify first-piece inspections and ensure operators complete check sheets accurately.
  • Maintain daily production records and documentation.
  • Assist in coordinating workflow and scheduling during shifts.
  • Provide guidance and support to a team of 10โ€“15 operators.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues and ensure efficient operation.
  • Train and mentor machine operators (A, B, and C levels).
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and maintain awareness to prevent injury.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Assist operators with equipment setup, including gages.
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding production, personnel, and improvement opportunities.
  • Review and update time and attendance records in Job Boss.
  • Complete Time Variance Forms when the supervisor is absent.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including dimensions, tolerances, and revisions.
  • Strong understanding of quality inspection tools and techniques.
  • Strong Leadership or team lead experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to troubleshoot machining issues independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
