Job description

Title: Senior CNC Programmer


Classification:  Non-exempt


Reports to:  Machining Manager


Department: Machining

Position Summary: A Senior level CNC Programmer at Foodera Technologies will be responsible for providing CNC programs for manufacturing food processing equipment parts, fixtures, and tooling using the latest version of Mastercam software. Specialized machining training such as an Associate Degree or equal experienced based proficiency is required. They must have 3+ years of experience in CNC programming. Experience with multi-axis part programming using Mastercam is required. They must be able to read blueprints accurately and have an understanding of GD&T. Knowledge of all typical inspection equipment and advanced shop math skills are needed. The person is required to work well with others. 


Essential functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions


  • Design and write advanced CNC programs/toolpaths for a variety of machines including 3 axis, 4 axis, and 5 axis CNC mills.
  • Proficient in editing G-code manually and creating custom post-processors for CAM programs to ensure optimal machine performance and accuracy.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing CNC programs for efficiency and quality improvements
  • Thorough understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T.
  • Ability to help machinists with set ups and machining processes.
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of tooling.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving machining problems.
  • Assist the Machining Manager in continuous process improvement.
  • Produce in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software.
  • Stay current on industry trends and new technologies to drive innovation within the company.
  • Ability to work well with other employees and the public.
  • Understand the safety policies of the shop, follow the shop safety practices - *Understand the safety factors of turning equipment*.


Physical Demands:


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for a large percentage of the workday.  The job may also require kneeling and bending.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Wearing required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, work boots, gloves, etc.).
