Job Title: Electric Power Generation (EPG) Training Instructor

Location: Elkridge, Maryland

Shift: 1st

Starting Compensation Range: $43.61 – $54.82 per hour 

The EPG Training Instructor is responsible for organizing, conducting and evaluating technical training courses and projects for employees. The EPG Training Instructor is primarily responsible for teaching courses focused on power systems/generator content.

Requirements for the EPG Training Instructor position include: 

  • Strong understanding of power generation principles, load calculations, and system troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in electrical system design software and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • Must have an excellent driving record
  • Must be able to travel with overnight travel, required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related program software
  • Promote a positive customer experience

Seeking Candidates with:

  • Formal training related to electric power generation, preferred
  • Relevant industry certifications, a plus
  • Minimum 2 years' diesel engine, electrical and/or power generation experience, required
  • Experience with Caterpillar engines used for power generation products, preferred
  • Proven expertise in operating and maintaining electric power systems, including generators, transformers, and switchgear, preferred
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes, such as IEEE, NFPA, and NEC (National Electric Code)
  • Experience presenting material in an engaging manner preferred but training will be provided

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to sit and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus
