Job description

Swiss CNC Machine Operator

The Swiss CNC Machine Operator produces custom precision parts by operating a multi-axis CNC Swiss-Style machine. Maintains quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the operation of multiple machines throughout the shift and producing parts within required tolerances.
  • Responsible for inspection of precision product utilizing various precision measuring equipment and visual inspection.
  • Make offset adjustments, sharpen tooling, change tooling, adjust tooling, and maintain machine fluid levels.
  • Operate and load bar feeder and measure bar stock material.
  • Check material to ensure correct material is used per blueprint and job specifications.
  • Knowledge of various material and differences between each.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and maintaining a clean and safe workstation.
  • Communication with set-up person, supervisors, foreman, and other shifts regarding the quality and job status.
  • Verify machine cycle time, speak with set-up person if router cycle time cannot be met.
  • Document in-process inspection as required.
  • Train personnel as required.
  • Address issues in a positive manner.
  • Performs other work-related activities as assigned by the line supervisor, supervisor, or foreman.

Position Requirements

  • Requires visual acuity (corrected) to read directions, interpret blueprints, and to inspect precision machined parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate machinery for precision work.
  • Physical ability to work requiring continuous standing, bending, twisting, and stooping the entire shift.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry up to 50lbs. frequently throughout the day.
  • One year experience operating CNC Swiss-style machines (Citizen, Tornos, Deco, or Star)
  • Ability to keep multiple CNC machines operational making quality product.
  • Possess mathematical abilities, verbal/written communication.
  • Understanding of ISO: 9001, ISO: 13485.
  • Basic GD&T understanding.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to accurately use precision gauges and visual accuracy.
  • Ability to produce precision work in a production environment.
  • Effective time-management skills.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Starting rate dependent on skill set.
