Job description

Job Description
This position is located in Henderson, NV. This position is eligible for a $1,000 Sign on Bonus. Responsible for operation of high-speed machines used in the production. Acts as a group leader. Makes minor adjustments and verifies quality of own work.
Under the direction of the production supervisor and operator, the Machine Operator is responsible for filling in for the Crew Leader in their absence and providing support and execution to ensure operation of the production line.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for adhering to all safe work procedures and practices of safety, and proactively identifies safety issues.
  • Communicates effectively, appropriately, and respectfully with each member of the organization. Emphasizes the values of trust, integrity, and respect during all communications within the organization.
  • Perform all routine work on the assigned line in addition to Machine Operator tasks as assigned by Supervisor, filling in for Crew Leader when needed.
  • Assists in providing effective solutions to difficult problems by using logic and problem solving skills. Develops critical thinking skills by looking beyond the obvious to contribute to finding the facts in support of defining the root cause of problems.
  • Supports a Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset by participating in continuous improvement initiatives through communication and by engaging team.
  • Exhibits strong individual responsibility towards the delivery of team metrics relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
  • Uses sound decision making skills in the execution of general production duties based on company documented processes and procedures, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices

Shift/Hours: Shift Schedules vary. At times overtime is mandatory. These positions will generally be scheduled for 12-hour shifts. There may be times when the assigned main line may not be running and will require this position to work another line with a closely similar shift time. All lines require a degree of scheduling flexibility. Current shifts available are on Day and Night shift.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 18 years old required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years solid and continuous work experience beyond an entry level role required. Examples include general production, construction, farm operations, food service and hospitality. Experience in food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated stability in employment, limited unexplainable gaps in work history.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully communicate with others.
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cause-and-effect and ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment and experience leading people preferred; must demonstrate capability of providing direction to others.
  • Quality-minded, conscientious, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to stand for entire 10-12 hour shift required.
  • Repetitive motion of hands, fingers, shoulders, and arms required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. required.
