Job description

About Us:

Neuromech Systems is a controls engineering and automation firm serving automotive OEMs and Tier

1 suppliers, delivering PLC programming, robotics integration, AMR/AFT fleet deployment, and safety

systems for high-volume manufacturing environments.

The Role:

We're looking for a Machine Vision Engineer to design, integrate, and commission vision inspection

systems across our automation projects. You'll work cross-functionally with controls, electrical,

mechanical, and robotics teams to deliver reliable, production-ready vision solutions for automotive

manufacturing clients.

Responsibilities:

• Design vision inspection stations, including feasibility studies, hardware selection, and vision design

specifications

• Integrate vision systems with PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), HMIs, encoders, and robot controllers

• Support FAT, SAT, and on-site commissioning, resolving integration issues across disciplines

• Develop and deploy vision solutions using platforms such as Cognex, Keyence, Matrox, and LMI

• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot faults and improve inspection

reliability and throughput

• Work with robot integration (Fanuc, Yaskawa, or similar) for automated inspection or

teach-and-playback workflows

• Document vision system performance (false positive/negative rates, cycle time, throughput) and

drive continuous improvement

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• 3+ years of hands-on machine vision integration experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting

• Experience with at least one major vision platform (Cognex, Keyence, Matrox, or LMI)

• Working knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen-Bradley/Studio 5000)

• Familiarity with industrial robotics (Fanuc, Yaskawa) is a strong plus

• Experience in automotive manufacturing (EV battery, body shop, or general assembly) preferred

• Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working on-site during commissioning and ramp-up

• Python or C++ scripting experience a plus (e.g., automated inspection workflows)

Preferred Certifications:

• A3 Certified Vision Professional (CVP) or equivalent

• Relevant OEM-specific standards training (e.g., GM PLC standards)

Additional Information:

This role requires regular travel to customer sites and may include work on manufacturing floors,

warehouses, automotive plants, and industrial facilities. Candidates must be comfortable following

customer safety requirements, wearing required PPE, and supporting commissioning activities during

production or off-shift windows when needed.
