Tool and Die Group Leader

Shift Available: 2nd (2p-1030p)

Wages Starting at over $40 per hour

To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to:

·         Read and interpret blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted

·         Plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds

·         Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials including tool steels.

·         Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining

·         Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.

·         Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same

·         Tear down, repairs and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required

This full-time hourly role is a part of our Tool and Die Team and reports to the Tool Room Supervisor.

Required experience:

·         Completion of formal apprenticeship program with journeyman card or equivalent to 8 years’ experience

·         Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize

·         Excellent problem solving skills such as 8D and 5 Whys

·         Excellent communication skills as evidenced in associate relations, team skills, and have the ability to interface directly with the customer to resolve issues

·         Ability to work independently, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

·         Excellent attendance record
