Summary:

The role of a Shop Helper involves assisting in day-to-day operations, maintaining cleanliness, and tidiness of the shop floor, along with organizing inventory and providing exceptional customer service. Tasks include restocking merchandise, operating relevant equipment, and ensuring a safe and well-presented retail environment. Essential

Functions:

  1. Assist in the daily operations of the shop
  2. Clean and organize work areas, tool room, and equipment
  3. Unload and load supplies and materials as needed
  4. Assist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment and machinery
  5. Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery
  6. Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment
  7. Provide support to other staff members as needed
  8. Comply with all safety regulations and procedures
  9. Fill in for parts runner as needed
  10. Assist in other departments as needed

Requirements

  1. Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment
  2. Basic knowledge of tools and machinery used in a shop environment
  3. Good communication skills to work collaboratively with fellow shop employees
  4. Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
  5. Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime as required
  6. Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work area
  7. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks
  8. Valid Driver’s license

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday, weekend rotation
  • On call
