Job description

Job Summary:

The Machine Technician I works in the Ammo Load Worldwide department and is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all equipment and machinery. Must be capable of safely performing the physical job demands in a timely fashion.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Must have a solid ability to read technical manuals, schematics and blue prints.

· Ability to disassemble & rebuild defective equipment as well as replace defective parts, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, etc.

· Must be able to trouble shoot, remove, disassemble, rebuild, reinstall and order parts for the following systems: pneumatics, pump systems, hydraulics, electrical, etc.

· Must be able to trouble shoot and make modifications to maintain equipment uptime.

· Make modifications to improve efficiency and reliability of equipment and its systems.

· Oversee modifications by internal and external resources for process changes, new models and expansion.

· Optimize/ upgrade or change equipment based on safety, quality, or production

· Must be able to use milling machines and lathes at a beginner to intermediate level.

· Able to use TIG, MIG and ARC welders as well as oxygen and acetylene.

· Must be able to make decisions concerning maintenance operations.

· Demonstrates a clean work environment.

· Follow and enforce all safety policies and procedures set forth by the company.

· Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufactures instructions, calling for repairs

· Able to work under minimum supervision

Maintaining Equipment

· Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.

· Maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.

· Generates reports on maintenance schedules.

Additional Accountabilities

· Assist in identifying and correcting problems.

· Work as a team member with supervisors and other workers.

· Contribute to team effort by performing other tasks as assigned.

· Must have a good work ethic and a willingness to learn.

· Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

· Ability to cross train with various disciplines.

Desired Qualifications

A machine tech must have good hand-eye coordination and vision, good math skills and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Applicant should have at least 1-2 years of experience as a machine tech.

Specifications/Qualifications:

· Experience – 0-2 years experience preferred.

· Education – High School or equivalent and/or Technical Certificate.

· Responsibility – Carry out assigned duties while observing all safety regulations.

· Complexity of duties – Attention to detail, use of good judgment.

· Supervision received – Direct to occasional oversight.

· Supervision exercised – Occasional supervision based on project and others involved.

· Working conditions – Extreme noise, heat, cold, dusty environment. Mostly indoors.

· Mental and physical demands – Standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, speaking, listening, climbing, motor coordination skills, coordination of eyes, hand and feet.

· Confidential data – Access to intellectual property must remain confidential and cannot be reproduced.

· Travel requirements – Under 10%
