Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·Perform front line mechanical inspections, preventive maintenance and electrical repairs on both diesel and gasoline vehicles per Pafford Fleet Policy and Procedures.
·Respond to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested.
·Assist other mechanics as needed.
·Assist in development of new maintenance programs.
·Operate company vehicles in accordance with company policy and safe driving practices.
·Complete all required vehicle repair and maintenance paperwork and documentation neatly, correctly and timely.
·Attend all mandatory training and meetings.
·Perform all other duties as assigned by Lead Mechanic or Operations Manager.
·Assist other Mechanics as needed.

Principal Accountabilities:

·Vehicles repaired efficiently and maintained in accordance to Pafford Policy and Procedures and local EMS standards.
·Respond positively to changing fleet and operations departmental priorities
·Respond to road calls accurately, diagnose and repair vehicles in quality fashion
·Thoroughly, timely, neatly and accurately document vehicle repairs and maintenance including a complete accounting of all labor hours, parts and materials used
·Accurately account for all parts and materials.
·Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive working relationship with all fleet and operations personnel; display professional conduct with outside suppliers and contacts
·Maintain good working relationship with all personnel and professional conduct with outside contacts.
·Exude a professional appearance
Essential Equipment Used:

·Telecommunication equipment and computers
·Personal Hand Tools
·Vehicle Shop Tools to include, but not limited to the following: Vehicle hoist/floor jacks; diagnostic scan tools, brake lathe, tire balancer and mounting machine, A/C Recovery/Recycle machine, pneumatic air tools, and misc hand tools.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

·Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education
·Must have 2 years of verifiable experience as a Class C Mechanic, automotive knowledge and skills necessary to perform maintenance and repairs on company vehicles
· Must have a current and valid driver’s license
· Must have a full set of personal tools
· If current employee, must obtain a recommendation from current supervisor
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work with limited supervision and as a team member
· Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive matters
· Ability to read, interpret and follow instructions presented in various documents and manuals
· Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
· Regular and predictable attendance
