Job description

We are hiring a Reconditioning/Refurbish Technician to join our team! You will operate machinery and equipment, as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

  • Shop Technician

BD electrical is a leader in the industry for the reconditioning of used electrical equipment. This electrical equipment consists of used bus plugs, busway, transformers, switch gear and breakers. This equipment is bought used, torn down, cleaned, and put back together. It is then sold to electrical contractors, factory startups or used as replacement material for existing facilities.

The environment at BD Electrical is not that of a typical manufacturing job. It is more of a refurbishment facility than an actual manufacturing facility. The noise level is at a minimum, some work can be performed sitting down and the work spaces are clean, among other things. Since it’s not your typical manufacturing facility, it is not managed like one either. The reason for that is because BD Electrical is part of an ESOP. What is an ESOP? An ESOP is an employee benefit plan that enables employees to own part, or all, of the company they work for. Although there is more to it than that, it is by all means, part of the appeal of working for BD Electrical.

  • Job requirements for the technician will include the following, but are not limited to:

    Shop experience is a must!

  • Disassembly of electrical bus plugs and/or switches

Cleaning and repairing (if needed) of material

  • Spray painting

Reassembly of the material and shop experience is a must!

  • In addition to the basic duties, the technician will be required to understand and use basic hand tools. These tools would include screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, hand drills, tape measures, and impact wrenches. This position requires no prior experience with electrical equipment. Training will be provided on day one with a hands-on approach.

  • The starting salary for the technician is $19 and will be reevaluated after the mandatory 90-day training period. The hours for this position are 6:30A-3:00P.
