Job description

Job Summary:
Through direction and guidance from the President and the Director of Quality, the Quality Manager drives continuous process improvement, best practice sharing, and the implementation of best practices across branches. The Quality Manager is accountable for customer audit preparedness, the NCR/CAR Program, and the implementation and accountability for work procedures and work instructions associated with the company's Quality Management System.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Director of Quality in developing new processes, products, materials, and technologies to improve shop operation efficiencies.
  • Train Production Managers, Operations Managers, and other Shop Management on developed shop operation and quality processes and procedures as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement in shop (assembly & repair) operations and warehouse management to eliminate waste, reduce defects (Non-Conformance Reports), and reduce throughput time.
  • Conduct internal quality audits and customer audits within the identified regions.
  • Assist the Director of Quality in developing company QMS work instructions and procedures to spread best practices for machinery, production board, and general operations from branch to branch and provide corresponding training within the identified regions.
  • Enforce Vytl Standardization procedures.
  • Monitor branch-level accountability to company QMS within the identified region.
  • Oversee work processes to ensure that internal and external quality standards are followed.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Quality and Sales departments to resolve any non-conformance issues, and responsible for decreasing overall non-conformance rate.
  • Coordinate with Branch and Operation Managers to optimize Labor Utilization Rate at all branches.
  • Communicate with customers, as required, to develop and maintain good working relationships and find additional ways to improve the execution of shop operations.
  • Onsite Vendor Audits to comply with API Q1 / 6D requirements.

Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience
    • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Auditor (preferred)
    • Safety Council training (preferred)
    • Current TWIC card (preferred)
    • Industrial valve/actuator OEM factory-authorized training certificates (preferred)
    • 10 years minimum industry experience
    • API Q1 / 6D knowledge and experience
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Skills & Abilities
    • Highly organized
    • Effective time-management
    • Detail-oriented
    • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office software
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, technical, and presentation skills
  • Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines.
  • Clear background check and drug/alcohol screening.

Essential Physical Functions:
  • Travel: less than 40%
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Bending, stooping, walking, and/or ability to stand for up to 75% of shift.
