Lead the operations that keep Branson moving.

The City of Branson is seeking a skilled and motivated Operations Manager to help oversee key Public Works functions that support safe, reliable, and well-maintained city infrastructure. This position plays a vital leadership role in managing streets, signage, rights-of-way, vehicles, equipment, and essential public works operations.

As Operations Manager, you will help ensure City infrastructure, streets, signage, right-of-way areas, vehicles, and equipment are maintained to high standards and remain in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will oversee the planning, organization, and administration of several important Public Works operations, including:

  • Streets Division operations, including pavement and right-of-way maintenance, mowing, snow and ice control, and drainage system maintenance
  • Sign Shop operations, including the printing, construction, placement, and maintenance of road signs throughout the City
  • Vehicle and Equipment Service Center operations, ensuring City vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and ready for use
  • Staff supervision, project coordination, process improvement, and response to operational needs throughout the City

What We're Looking For

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have:

  • A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year institution in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field
    • Direct full-time job-related professional experience of six or more years may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience in municipal public works management, relationship management, communication, or technical writing preferred
  • A valid Class A CDL, or the ability to obtain one within 12 months of employment
    • A passing grade on the written portion of the Class A CDL exam is required before employment
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, integrity, and work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and respond to operational needs with professionalism
  • Candidates must also be willing to participate in the on-call rotation and respond to emergency calls outside normal work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned. This position also requires availability for snow route operations, including 12-hour shifts during the months of November through March.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation, drug and alcohol screenings, and physical agility assessment is required.
