This role exists to support the continued growth and operational performance of Karl Storz’s precision machining operation.

The Machine Shop Supervisor plays a key role in leading production teams, maintaining workflow efficiency, supporting quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a high-precision medical manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who understands CNC machining, production flow, and how to build strong manufacturing teams.

The Work You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise machining department personnel and 2–4 Team Leads
  • Coordinate production schedules, priorities, and workflow
  • Support daily machining operations to ensure quality and on-time delivery
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management activities
  • Monitor department KPIs and implement corrective actions when needed
  • Support MRB processes and daily production reviews
  • Troubleshoot downtime and escalate technical issues as required
  • Lead Kaizen events and Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Develop and maintain standard work procedures
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, FDA, and quality system requirements
  • Promote a strong safety culture and enforce PPE/safety standards
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements
