General Shop Help (Project-Based/Seasonal)
Location: La Verne, CA - LA Creative Division, Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group
About Us:
Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group is the nation's premier producer of themed attractions and live events. From haunted attractions and immersive experiences to escape rooms and seasonal festivals, we bring imagination to life through large-scale creative production. Our LA Creative Division in La Verne is expanding and gearing up for the upcoming production season - and we're looking for motivated individuals to join our build and fabrication team!
Position Overview:
This project-based/seasonal position supports our shop's daily operations during active production cycles. As General Shop Help, you'll assist with fabrication, assembly, CNC operations, material organization, and general shop maintenance. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, dependable, and ready to jump into a fast-paced, hands-on creative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Shop Operations: Keep the shop clean, organized, and running efficiently by managing tools, materials, and workspaces.
  • Assembly Work: Build and assemble components from blueprints, instructions, or work orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • CNC Support: Assist with setup, operation, and monitoring of CNC machinery (training provided).
  • Material Handling: Safely load, move, and store materials, parts, and finished products.
  • Production Assistance: Support fabricators, carpenters, and scenic artists by preparing tools, materials, and workstation setups.
  • Basic Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning and light maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, use proper PPE, and maintain a hazard-free environment.
  • Finishing & Logistics: Help with finishing, labeling, and packaging completed parts for storage, transport, or installation.
  • Adaptability: Take on additional duties as assigned by the Production or Shop Manager to support overall project goals.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools required.
  • Familiarity with CNC machinery a plus - training provided.
  • Ability to read simple technical drawings or blueprints preferred.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
