Compensation Range: $27.00 - $30.00 (Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications)
2nd Shift Differental: $3.00 per hour
Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Position Summary
Trillium Flow Technologies is seeking an experienced Machinist III to join our Fresno 2nd Shift Machine Shop team. This role is responsible for planning, setting up, and operating a variety of machine tools to manufacture, modify, and repair pump components and related equipment. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled machinist with strong blueprint-reading abilities, a commitment to quality workmanship, and the capability to mentor less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate engine lathes, vertical turret lathes, milling machines, radial drill presses, and other machine tools with or without digital readout (DRO) and computer-enhanced equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in at least two designated machine work cells.
  • Train and support junior machinists within mastered work cells as needed.
  • Plan work sequences and machining operations for the construction, modification, and repair of pump components, fixtures, tooling, and equipment.
  • Interpret complex blueprints, drawings, specifications, and sketches.
  • Machine components to precise tolerances while maintaining high quality standards and minimizing defects.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining issues that could impact product quality or production efficiency.
  • Replace cutting tools, drills, taps, grinding tools, blades, sanding belts, and discs as required.
  • Accurately record labor hours, production information, and required reports.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, defective materials, and unusual operating conditions to leadership.
  • Adhere to all safety, quality, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and company policy requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical machinist certification or equivalent hands-on machining experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of machinist experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.
  • Experience operating manual machine tools and machining a variety of metal materials.

Required Knowledge & Skills
  • Intermediate blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of metal properties and machining practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to effectively train and mentor less experienced machinists.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment and material handling devices.
  • Exposure to machine shop environments with varying noise levels.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, and other equipment as necessary.

Work Schedule
  • 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
