ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Oversee operations in auto service to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Oversee the inspection of automobiles to identify faulty components and facilitate process for repairs.
  • Supervises the activities of automotive technicians to ensure efficient job performance and timely repairs.
  • Oversee the hiring and training of an effective auto service team.
  • Monitor shop supplies inventory to regulate and ensure availability of required vehicle parts.
  • Ensure automotive service staff complies with environmental laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the procurement of vehicle parts, automotive equipment and various other items required in an auto service department.
  • Evaluate the performance of automotive service staff in order to acknowledge efficient employees and guide underperforming ones.
  • Listen to client complaints and assist in addressing their issues and resolving challenges.
  • Perform quality control inspections as needed
  • Oversee the disposal of wastes such as used engine oil and hazardous materials so as to comply with all laws and regulations.
  • Assign and schedule work duties to auto service staff according to their skills, ensuring the highest possible efficiency.
  • Attend workshops and study relevant publications to stay up-to-date with developments in the automotive service industry.
  • Requires being at work on time and having satisfactory attendance.
  • Any other duties assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the supervision of 2-20 employees in the Service Department. Assists in the supervisory responsibility under the Shop Foreman in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual must have excellent interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to interpret customer needs, basic computer knowledge, ability to work well with others, professional appearance, good math and clerical skills, working knowledge of office machines. Individuals must possess a positive attitude, be a self-starter, motivated, have excellent organization skills and be goal oriented. Must be able to work weekends and overtime. Individual should be honest, ethical, dependable and a team player.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma and two years of related education or 5 years of related experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
