Responsibilities:
  • Display a good attitude conducive to a shop environment.
  • Must work well with others as a team.
  • Perform required job functions in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform job functions in a manner that promotes Quality per Voith Standards.
  • Must be dependable in regards to attendance.
  • Must be willing to work over time when required.
  • Must be willing to learn and perform other tasks of operation as required.
  • Shift work may be required.
  • Set up, operate and maintain large, medium and small lathes, mills, drills, vertical lathes and other related machine shop equipment used for new manufacture and repair of paper machine rolls.
  • Must be able to provide close tolerance work and maintain Voith quality standards in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Must be familiar with operation and tooling of many different types of machines.
  • Should have experience in lifting and moving heavy loads with an overhead crane.
  • Should have experience in setups used in machining practices on large equipment.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma preferred but not required if the experience level, determined by Voith management, off-sets this requirement.
  • Experienced operator preferred with back ground as machinist in Paper Mill roll repair.
  • Experienced operator with back ground as machinist on equipment other than paper mill rolls.
  • Past operational experience on other similar industrial equipment.
  • A trainee may be considered if they exhibit the requirements as detailed under general responsibilities
