Job description

As Body Shop Technician, you are responsible for performing repairs in areas aligned with your completed training. You are to model behaviors and a culture for success including integrity, respect, drive, community, fun and pride without ego, with self-confidence, and creativity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

Measure and adjust vehicle alignment to restore it to factory specifications.

Ensure all parts are installed correctly, and operate properly (e.g., doors, windows, electrical).

Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts.

Communicate with the body shop manager regarding the scope of repairs and progress.

Communicate with the body shop manager immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.

Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to the body shop manager.

Ensures that customers’ cars are kept clean. Notifies the body shop manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

Keeps service bays and shop area clean daily. Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner. Reports any safety issues immediately to management.

Participate in process and policy discussions of the company to continually adapt to the changing market.

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations (i.e. OSHA Right-to-Know), and standards to maintain the legality and business integrity of the Dealership.

Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks.

Understanding of vehicle construction, repair techniques, and industry equipment.

Maintain a safe work environment.

Other tasks as assigned.
