Body Shop Technician
Summary

Description

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $62,500-$75,000 yearly plus monthly bonus

JOB SUMMARY: The primary function of the Body Shop Technician is to perform body work on customer equipment in a superior and thorough manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will repair/replace damaged body parts back to Pre-Accident Condition with factory and dealership specifications. Quality repairs need to meet or exceed the original factory fit and finish. The end result must be an invisible repair.
  • Assist the Body Shop Manager with the care, storage and usage of all materials used in body work processes. Follows all safety standards set by applicable governmental guidelines, including state fire and health codes, and federal OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain regular working knowledge and familiarity with all EPA and OSHA documentation as required by applicable government health and safety regulations including OSHA and EPA guidelines.
  • Perform work as directed by the Body Shop Manager in a timely and thorough manner. Maintain a superior standard of workmanship in all services performed.
  • Advise the Body Shop Manager of any recommended changes in services ordered by the customer.
  • Determine if any further service should be recommended to the customer and communicate such recommendations to the Body Shop Manager.
  • Maintain a level of training and experience with specialized materials, equipment, machinery, and body working techniques necessary for superior servicing of the customer's equipment. Attend training sessions as required from time to time by the Body Shop Manager.
  • Performs additional services as required when any piece of equipment is returned by a customer because of the Body Shop Technician's faulty workmanship.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Excellent organization and communication skills. Two years' experience as a vehicle body repair technician or apprentice. Working knowledge of body repair methods. Valid driver's license. Ability to interpret vendor catalogs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This is a physically demanding position.  Will stand six to eight hours per shift.  Will stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, handle and feel.  Will lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, paint, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
