Shop Manager

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma 74107

Compensation:$25-$35/hr.

About The Client

One of the leading ornamental and architectural metal fabricators in the United States. Our shop is fully climate-controlled, and we offer an extensive benefits package that reflects the value we place on our team.

Position Summary

The Shop Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of craft and trade employees in an architectural metalwork fabrication shop. This role ensures that shop personnel are effectively directed, developed, and held accountable in alignment with company standards. The Shop Manager serves as the primary point of contact for shop-level operations, maintaining a productive, safe, and organized work environment while supporting the Division Manager's goals.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Management

•Directly supervises craft and trade employees, including daily work direction, scheduling,

and task assignment

•Conducts regular performance conversations and provides timely, constructive feedback

•Addresses performance issues promptly and in accordance with company policy

•Supports employee development through on-the-job coaching and skills training

•Participates in hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary processes in coordination w/HR

Tools & Equipment

•Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and accountability of shop tools and equipment

•Ensures all equipment is in safe working conditions and that inspections and maintenance

schedules are followed

•Enforces company policies regarding tool handling, storage, and care

•Tracks equipment inventory and communicates needs or deficiencies to the Division Manager

Communication

•Communicates work expectations, priorities, and updates clearly to shop employees daily

•Prepares and maintains accurate written documentation, including logs, reports, and shift records

•Serves as a clear and consistent point of communication between the shop floor and

Division Manager

•Promotes open communication within the team and addresses concerns or conflicts

in a professional manner

Required Qualifications

•Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing craft or trade employees

in a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment

•Professional references required

•Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

•Must pass a background check — no criminal record

•Hands-on knowledge of welding processes, including MIG and TIG, in a wide range of

metals; certified welding credentials are a plus

•Proficiency in machine shop skills, including drilling, milling, tapping, and related operations

•Experience with metal finishing processes, including painting, abrasive blasting, graining,

sanding, and powder coating; patina application experience is a plus

•Experience in decorative metal forming and/or forging is a plus, but not required

•Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal form

•Proven ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive, high-performing

team environment

•Solid organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting

•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced custom

fabrication environment

•Demonstrated positive attitude and personal integrity to lead by example

•Constructive communication skills — able to deliver feedback, resolve conflict,

and motivate employees in a manner that builds trust and maintains team morale

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is dependent on experience (DOE).

•Health Insurance — Company pays 70% of the employee's premium and 50% of family coverage

•Paid Time Off — 40 hours after 12 months, 80 hours after 24 months, and 120 hours after 60 months of service
