Additionally, our expertise covers close tolerance and precision alignment, as well as fabrication, concrete construction, and industrial HVAC solutions.
Job Summary
Job Title: Field Safety Supervisor
Department: Safety
Reports To: Safety Manager
FLSA: Exempt
Summary: The Field Safety Supervisor monitors safety and health regulations and provides technical support to plant and personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Works closely with staff in project management, human resources, legal, operations, and research and development.
  2. Provides technical safety and health support and information to field personnel and corporate personnel.
  3. Enforces safety and health programs and policies.
  4. Identifies company safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs.
  5. Participate in new product/process reviews, including process hazard analyses, operator training, etc.
  6. Supports corporate/Project Management to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.
  7. Supports field personnel in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
  8. Maintains corporate safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
  9. Promotes safety and health awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters, and specific training programs.
  10. Participates in company occupational safety and health issues.
  11. Assist as necessary in implementation of a hazard communication program and preparation of reports.
  12. Reviews process-operating procedures/records and provides input for safety and health considerations.
  13. Understands federal and state occupational safety and health regulations and monitors regulatory changes as they occur.
  14. Provides technical support to corporate and field personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
  15. Audits practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational safety and health regulations.
  16. Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker's compensation claims.
  17. Reviews of plant safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports and follows up, as necessary.
  18. Reviews injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports and follows up, as necessary.
  19. Develop/coordinate SWPs, JSA, and other safety planning documents

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, though management of the safety program includes directing safety related activities. Also serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Assist with tasks assigned to the Safety Division.

  • Construction or millwright experience- 3 years
  • Computer programing and general knowledge of all Microsoft Office Tools
  • Training in OSHA or NCCER topics a plus
  • NCCCO Rigging Certified a plus
  • Experience with Procore a plus
  • Overnight travel may be required
