Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze workplace processes, equipment, and environments to identify potential hazards and assess associated risks, with an emphasis on ergonomics
  • Develop and implement safety procedures, policies, and standards to prevent accidents and injuries, including Process Safety Management/Risk Management Programs
  • Create and deliver training programs to employees and management on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and regulatory compliance, including Lockout/Tagout programs
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices
  • Identify potential hazards associated with job functions and equipment, then present and implement corrective actions
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Stay informed of changes to OSHA and EPA regulations impacting the facility
  • Present solutions for maintaining or achieving compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Contribute to the design and selection of safe equipment and systems, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Evaluate new equipment for safety requirements, such as machine guarding and interlocks
  • Communicate safety information effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Collaborate with plant engineers, maintenance, and technical specialists on safety initiatives
  • Maintain records as required by policy, practice, and procedures
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds over your head
  • Climbing into and under equipment
  • Frequently climbing stairs, ladders, and using cross-overs

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, workstation design
  • Experience with PSM/RMP programs preferred
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in an industrial setting
  • Firm understanding of OSHA General Industry standards. Familiarity with EPA standards a plus
  • Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques (5-why, Fishbone, FMEA) highly desired.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex safety concepts and instructions to diverse audiences
  • Detail-oriented mindset committed to excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proactive and adaptable; a driver for change
