Role overview

Own the full life cycle of Swiss turning work—from reading product drawings and programming toolpaths to setup, production, and in-process inspection.

What you’ll do
  • Translate drawings into programs for Swiss-type CNC equipment.
  • Set up tools, bar stock, and guide bushing; prove out first-off parts.
  • Tune wear/geometry offsets to maintain predetermined specifications.
  • Measure, inspect, and document results; complete all required paperwork.
  • Operate Citizen and Tsugami Swiss machines to produce finished components.
How Swiss turning works (the short version)

Swiss machines feed stock through a guide bushing so cutting happens immediately adjacent to the support point. The spindle moves the material past the stationary tool, which is ideal for producing long, slender turned components with stability and precision across their length.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Background working with machinery (machine shop, maintenance, or similar).
  • Solid math skills and foundational metalworking knowledge.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM tools is helpful.
