Job description

Position Summary:
Provide painting and other surface restoration services to interior and exterior surfaces throughout the facility. Work involves performing wall ceiling and flooring preparation/restoration utilizing a variety of techniques and tools to apply paints and other surface materials/products as necessary to complete assigned task.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule and perform all painting work that comes in through the work request system.
  • Work directly with supervisor or other Facilities leaders to plan, coordinate and prioritize other preparation/restoration work that is identified and approved to schedule.
  • Perform restoration and minor construction work such as (flooring installations, ceiling tile/grid replacements, wall finish work such as wall paper) and other removals and installation of equipment that may be mounted in areas of the building.
  • Communicate and updates facilities leaders and customers regarding task status, work schedule adjustments, issues or concerns and any other changes that may impact the task/project.
  • Has the knowledge and ability to utilize tools and equipment such as (paint mixer, power drills/saws, paint sprayer equipment, power wash equipment and other tools/equipment necessary to complete tasks in a professional manner.
  • Provides needed support and problem solving techniques to support all other trade fields as needed for their successful completion of work assignments.
  • Has the knowledge and ability to read, interpret and understand OEM manuals, specification and other product data sheets to apply finishes or perform minor restoration/construction work in a safe and professional manner.
  • Utilize basic knowledge of codes and other regulations related to the construction/restoration trade fields to complete assigned tasks with compliant outcomes.
  • Assist other team members in performing tasks assigned by facilities leaders during utility/equipment shutdowns as necessary to complete tasks/projects.
  • Assist department leadership in managing any work activities as assigned.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with ICRA and PICRA safety plans, lockout tag-out, confined space, MSDS and all other regulatory programs as assigned to maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements such as JCAHO, State, OSHA, NEC, SOC, etc.
  • Report all unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor.
  • Documents all work performed and all training received (or given).
  • Communicate with all departmental / interdepartmental staff as required.
  • Attend meetings and in-services as scheduled. Keep all logs current. Keep records of work and makes reports.
  • Maintain expense budgets within established guidelines.
  • Requisition supplies and materials by following purchasing and department specific procedures.
  • Maintain documentation of building finishes and painting standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Employees must demonstrate strong motor coordination, balance, and spatial awareness to safely operate tools and equipment. High visual and auditory alertness is required, especially in areas with moving machinery. Emotional demands are moderate, focusing on hazard recognition, task accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. Environmental exposures may include extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and periodic physical examinations are often required.
