Job description

POSITION TITLE: Machine Operator III- 3rd Shift (Fr-Sun 5A-5P)

12 Hour Shifts- Work 36 Hours- Paid for 40 Hours-

REPORTS TO: Finishing Supervisor

NON-EXEMPT

Job Summary: 

The Machine Operator III is responsible for operating and monitoring finishing equipment such as laminators, die cutters, and collators to ensure production meets quality and safety standards. This role requires physical endurance, attention to detail, and adherence to standard operating procedures in a fast-paced environment.  

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

N/A 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Operating and feeding all machines within the department as needed 

  • Following all applicable SOPs 

  • Reviewing job tickets, proofs, and obtaining supervisors approval before running jobs 

  • Locating and preparing jobs for production 

  • Monitoring sheet quality during production and stop jobs if specifications aren’t met 

  • Following ergonomic practices when handling materials to prevent damage or injuries 

  • Loading and unloading laminators, ensuring correct temperature, pressure, and timing 

  • Maintaining conscious oven operations by sequencing loads efficiently 

  • Accurately documenting job details and entering data into tracking systems 

  • Keeping staging areas organized and ensuring proper job identification  

  • Adhering to machine safety protocols and ensure proper PPE is used 

  • Performing additional tasks assigned by supervisors 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Working in a loud environment 

  • Proficiency in reading and speaking English 

  • Understanding job tickets, SOPs, and safety protocols 

  • Basic math skills 

  • Familiarity with data entry 

  • Familiarity with using computers 

  • Working overtime as needed 

  • Attention to detail 

  • Working in a fast-paced environment 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred 

  • Prior experience in machine operating 

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Standing for extended periods of time 

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs  

  • Manual dexterity 

  • Exposure to electro-static shock
