Job Purpose 

The Machine Operator is responsible for the operation, disassembly, cleaning, and maintenance of food processing and production equipment to the food production departments in accordance with production schedules, product quality, and demands. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Safely transports raw material pallets from storage to the food production area in preparation for production to use.

Breaks down, cleans, and reassembles food production and processing equipment  parts as required for production needs while maintaining food safety standards and practices

Maintains the organization of supplies within the enrobing and chocolate departments while maintaining proper food allergen storage standards and practices

Coordinates with production to ensure raw materials are prepared and available

Communicates and collaborates with Production Manager and Leads on expiration dates, out of stock items, and incoming stock items

Assist in managing and facilitating the lot tracking system for inventory.

Uphold attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure with constant deadlines.

Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.

Responsible for correctly entering lot codes information into various forms.

Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work area. 

Must be willing to become forklift certified and maintain the certification.

Comply with GMP and SQF Standards

Must be willing to work in different departments to support e-commerce business during peaks (December, week of Valentine’s Day, & Week of Mother’s Day)

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Minimum 1 years' experience operating machine-preferred
  • Ability to read and speak basic English

  • Ability to apply deductive reasoning and to carry out simple verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of basic tools and ability to make simple mechanical adjustments, using basic math calculations and measurements

This position works in a warehouse setting.  This role routinely moves and organizes inventory stored on industrial shelving. This role also may also be required to transport inventory to the designated inventory stocking area. This role regularly stands and walks on hard flooring for extended amounts of time.
