Job description

The Forklift Operator Key Responsibilities

  • Physically load and unload containerized waste from straight trucks and van trailer
  • Prep and load customer supplies on straight trucks and van trailer
  • Move and organize containerized waste within the facility
  • Process containers into the solid non-hazardous waste stream stations.
  • Operate forklifts and assist with general maintenance.
  • Gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the company's standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure they are followed.
  • Ensure superior customer service is provided.
  • General shop clean-up and maintenance.
  • Notify the Shift Supervisor/Operations Manager of any defects, damages, mistakes, errors, contamination, spills, other incidents or accidents that are identified.
  • Maintain yard and warehouse cleanliness, dumping scrap metal and garbage into roll-off bins, and sweeping.
  • Maintain yard and warehouse organization and security.
  • Attend Household Hazardous Waste collection events to identify, classify and separate waste. Load containerized waste for transport back to facility.
  • Other tasks as required.
